“I would like to compliment the men and women and the entire Gray team on an OUTSTANDING job that was done on Prospect Mill Road. As a 25 year former Harford County road inspector (now in Highways Dept.) I know quality work when I see it. I drive this road everyday and very much appreciate the EXCELLENT care and workmanship that went into this job. Another job well planned and executed the “Gray Way”. Thank you and keep up the great work!”

“Just wanted to comment on your work crews operating in the development where I reside. (Legacy at Fallston Commons) Every morning when I am walking my dogs, your crews arrive to the new section worksite. The folks drive at or below the speed limit, stop at stop signs and grant the right of way to pedestrians. They truly seen to respect the people in the development. I believe that is an example of the culture of your company. The owners and managers can be proud of the employees.”
Stephen Preller

“I would like to thank you, your office staff and field personnel for all their efforts in assisting us in moving in our first two buildings of customers at our Towson Green community. Your cooperation in working with our intensified schedule, working extra hours and getting inspections is truly appreciated.”
Tom Fox, VP/Director of Warranty Services, BA Towson Green, LLC

“The cooperation and support of Gray and Son company personnel with the Maryland Agricultural Resources Council and Ag Center on the Cuba/Shawan Road interchange project was really appreciated. From receiving road project subsoil and topsoil, for contouring fields, leveling slopes, and filling holes, the cooperation has contributed to major Ag Center improvements that would have taken us years to achieve otherwise. We haven’t achieved complete confidence that we are in control of all surface water run-off from major storms, but your help with swales, diversion-ways, spreading of millings and prompt seeding of disturbed and filled areas, represents a huge step toward that goal. Even more importantly, two marginally useful fields can now be brought into crop production for the demonstration farm. Please express our appreciation to Robbie Shaneybrook, Project Manager, and to the principals of Gray and Son.”
Gene Swackhamer, President Maryland Agricultural Resource Council

“I wanted to extend a personal “thank you” to you and your team for their efforts on The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads project. With the help of your team’s efforts, we were able to complete this project with quality & within the Owner’s accelerated schedule.”

I wanted to write this letter to commend the work of your company this year on Contract 11-150: Repair & Rehabilitation of Various Roads in Harford County. This project involved several “mini-projects” at Constant Friendship Boulevard, Treetop Drive, Tredmore Drive and Patterson Mill Road. The workmanship of Mike Davis’s crews on these projects was excellent and the impact on the public has been nothing but positive. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Kevin Thatcher for working through some budgetary problems which arose on the Patterson Mill Road site. We had some unforeseen work occur at that location and Kevin worked with us to bring cost down to a manageable level. Both Mike & Kevin are very professional and it has been a pleasure to work with them. These men and the crews performing the work on these projects are a credit to your company and their contribution needs to be recognized. It is a pleasure working with Gray & Son, Inc. and I hope to have the privilege of working with your company on many more occasions.”
Michael Davies, Chief Construction Inspector, Harford County

“I just wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how much I appreciated the quality job your company did in coping in my driveway to the newly paved road. I live on Pleasantville Road and was very pleased when I came home from work and drove over the fine transition job your people accomplished. I have lived at this location for many years, through more than one repaving of the county road. Most repaving jobs were poor at best. After the last repaving job, I was left with a 3-inch drop-off at my driveway, and it was uneven at that. Thanks again … I just wanted to let you know there are still people out there who appreciate quality work!”
Roger Shackelford

“I wanted to take a moment to tell you what an outstanding job your snow removal team did for us at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The back-to-back storms of the magnitude of these two storms would challenge any snow removal contractor; however, your staff rose to the occasion and helped keep the hospital running. Their efforts were unwavering, and their hard work paid off. By this morning, our campus was in very good condition. I particularly want to compliment Allen, your project supervisor, for his outstanding effort and cooperation. Allen is good to work with; he is attentive to our needs; and his experience and dedication have been a big part of our success. We appreciate having him on our campus to run Gray & Son’s team effort.”
Barry Meyer, Director of Facilities, Johns Hopkins Bayview

“This is a note of appreciation for the fine work your firm did earlier this year on Hazelwood Avenue in Baltimore. Previously, I was challenged constantly to keep my speed up in my hard-riding little delivery truck as I traveled the Hazelwood washboard several times a day. Now my problem is to keep the speed down to the legal limit. It’s a problem I’m glad to have. I hope to see your excellent workmanship on other streets in east Baltimore.”
Tom Coates

“I’m writing to express my appreciation for the quality work your men have done at Lee Property. From the initial grading operations of Phase 1 through surface paving of Phase 2, I valued the knowledge and experience that Les Prebble and Randy Leppo provided and greatly appreciate their guidance and responsiveness. It was the tremendous effort exhibited by Glen Benedict and others directly involved with installing recharge trenches behind existing homes, however, that compelled me to write to you. Installing trenches in the rear yards of occupied homes obviously involved significant homeowner interaction. Glen not only did an excellent job of answering questions and taking the time to educate the homeowner about the purpose of the recharge trenches, but, most importantly, he did so with sincere empathy. By acknowledging homeowner concerns and thinking outside the box to recommend solutions, Glen effectively neutralized homeowner apprehension and definitely made my job a lot easier. Recognizing the added challenges of conducting work on homeowner-occupied lots, I was thoroughly impressed by the efforts your men made to maintain homeowner relations.”

“HITT would like to take this opportunity to provide some specific comments with regard to Gray & Son’s performance on the T. Rowe Price Phase III project. With any project, there are inevitably going to be some issues that need to be overcome, but, on the T. Rowe Price project, we worked through all issues quickly and effectively as a team. This was due in large part to Gray & Son’s strong client relationship ethic, their project approach, key staffing and overall management of the project that kept things going in a positive direction. The staff of HITT Contracting at T. Rowe Price would like to express our sincere appreciation to Gray & Son for its key contributions to the timely and successful completion of the project. We would like to recognize and especially commend the efforts of your management team leaders, Chris Eisenhart and A.E. Bull; your field leader, Craig Andes; and the rest of your field crews on site. Their overall “team approach,” along with their hard work, timely attention to issues, focus on quality and other positive qualities, led to a quality project for the owner and a pleasurable working partnership with HITT. Craig Andes’ commitment to producing a quality product and his “can-do” attitude were appreciated and fostered a team approach … Together, we again proved that HITT Contracting and Gray & Son have a relationship that works successfully. We hope that the feeling is mutual, and we look forward to continuing our positive relationship on future building projects.”
Josh Foreso, Project Manager, HITT Contracting

“I would like to commend Gray & Son that just finished repaving our street [in Nottingham, Maryland]. The entire crew was courteous and hard-working. Job well done.”

“My family and I live in Howard County near Route 29 and Route 32. We love the work you’ve done on Route 29 in that area, and we never suffered through much difficulty during the construction phase. Thank you!”
